Product Overview
Ecological Bags are engineered geotextile containers designed for eco-friendly erosion control, slope reinforcement, and green infrastructure projects. Made from UV-stabilized polypropylene fabric, these permeable bags are filled with soil and seeds on-site to create stable vegetated structures that blend seamlessly with natural environments. Ideal for restoring disturbed landscapes while preventing soil loss.
Key Features and Benefits
Biodegradable & Permanent: Optional biodegradable fabric decomposes after 5–8 years, leaving established vegetation (ASTM D5988).
High Tensile Strength: Woven polypropylene withstands >2,500 N/m tensile load (ASTM D4595) for structural integrity.
Vegetation Support: Permeable fabric (≥40 l/m²/sec permittivity) allows root penetration and water exchange.
Erosion Resistance: Interlocking bag design creates stable gravity walls (up to 85° slope angle).
Sustainable Construction: Uses on-site fill materials, reducing transport emissions and costs.
Primary Applications
Slope Revetment: Reinforces embankments, riverbanks, and shorelines.
Retaining Walls: Builds terraced structures up to 10 m tall without concrete.
Stormwater Management: Creates vegetated swales and check dams.
Mine Reclamation: Stabilizes and revegetates disturbed terrain.
Landscape Architecture: Designs natural-looking terraces and garden walls.
Installation Advantages
Rapid Assembly: No heavy machinery required; hand-stack with geogrid reinforcement.
Flexible Design: Adapts to curves and irregular contours.
Integrated Planting: Fill mix includes native seeds/hydroseed for immediate growth.
Drainage Compatibility: Natural permeability prevents hydrostatic pressure buildup.
Green Advantages
Soil Conservation: Reduces sediment runoff by >90% vs. bare slopes.
Carbon Sequestration: Established vegetation captures 2–5 tons CO₂/acre/year.
Habitat Creation: Promotes biodiversity with native plant species.
NSF 347 Certified: Safe for potable water contact in aquatic applications.
Installation Guidelines
Prepare Subgrade: Compact and level foundation.
Fill Bags: Mix soil, seed, and fertilizer; fill to 80% capacity.
Place & Compact: Stagger like masonry; tamp to 150 mm height.
Reinforce: Insert geogrid every 3–4 layers for slopes >45°.
Irrigate: Water immediately to activate seed germination.
Quality Assurance
UV resistance: >24 months exposed lifespan (ASTM D4355)
Biodegradable option: Meets EN 13432 compostability standards
Third-party tested for tensile, tear, and permittivity performance
Resists pH 4–10 soils and microbial degradation
